On June 14, the representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office made unannounced visits to Artik and Vanadzor penitentiary institutions.
The detention conditions of persons deprived of liberty, the state of their rights protection and their compliance to the requirements were examined. Private interviews were also held with several prisoners, who were on hunger strike, as well as issues related to the healthcare provided to them were examined.
Based on the results of the visit, respective measures will be taken aimed at solving registered issues.
