A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Committee based on the violations recorded by the Human Rights Defender of RA

RA Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case on the basis of cases on provision of paid services at psychiatric institutions which were recorded by the staff of Human Rights Defender.

The Human Rights Defender's Office reported gross violations at psychiatric institutions during unannounced visits.

The issues raised during the visits, the results of the studies, as well as recommendations have been sent to the competent authorities and some of the information has been sent to the Prosecutor General's Office for proper processing. All of the mentioned issues have also been included in the respective ad hoc public report by the Defender.

Monitoring by the Human Rights Defender's Office shows that issues are still being recorded at psychiatric institutions, and urgent and practical steps must be taken to eliminate these violations.
