The number of those who has received consultations via the Defender’s hotline increased fourfold

Calls received via hotline by the Human Rights Defender’s Office increased fourfold over the past 3 months as compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Particularly, if 160 people applied for a consultation in June-August 2017, then 665 people applied during the same period in 2018.

The study shows that this number is conditioned by the constant increase in trust towards the Human Rights Defender's Institution proved by the surveys of international organizations, as well as by the new expectations of the society.

According to the statistics, the picture has not changed much with regard to state institutions within two years. Citizens continue to address issues related to the mandate of the courts, the Police, the Penitentiary Service, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
