Today, the Head of Department for Social, Economic and Cultural Rights of the Human Rights Defender’s Office Tatevik Tokhyan participated in a training titled “Disability, models, legal regulations, language and behavior” organized by “Agat” NGO.
She underlined that the state should create such an environment that a person with disabilities could equally exercise their rights with everyone. Tatevik Tokhyan highlighted the importance of believing in the potential of persons with disabilities and the cooperation with NGOs that actively operate in this field.
She presented the domestic legal acts protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as the functions of the Human Rights Defender’s Office in this field to the persons with disabilities, who attended the training that was organized within the framework of “Promoting Human Rights Protection in Armenia for All” project, funded by the USAID.
