There is a Necessity of Transition to a Regulating Function in the Fight Against Monopoly: The Draft Prepared by the Defender Proposes to Introduce the Anti-Monopoly Compliance Institute

The Human Rights Defender’s Office prepared a legislative draft which suggests introducing anti-monopoly compliance institute in the Armenian legislation aimed at the protection of business.

It will protect business from anti-monopoly legislation violations and will give the opportunity to avoid fines, and on the other hand, the state will ensure the implementation of an anti-corruption policy towards improving and developing the business environment in the country.

The draft is based on International standards and the results of the study of other countries’ experiences.

The package of draft laws on Making amendments to the RA Law on Protection of Economic Competition and Making Amendments in the RA Code of Administrative Offences developed by the Human Rights Defender’s Office was sent to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Economy.
