In the framework of a working visit to Warsaw, the Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met with the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir.
During the meeting prevention of torture, protection of rights of those apprehended by the Police, and a number of Defender’s activities carried out in other areas were discussed. The parties also referred to the Human Rights Defender’s role in the electoral process and questions related to protection of electoral rights. The Defender also presented new working principles and methods for improvement of legal acts and human rights education.
Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir mentioned that she was impressed by the Human Rights Defender’s work and professionalism. At the end of the meeting, the parties made arrangements to further deepen their cooperation over human rights matters.
