Unannounced visit to the mental health care center: issues were recorded

The representatives of the Human Rights Defender paid an unannounced monitoring visit to “Dzorak” mental health care center SNCO of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

 

During the visit, living conditions, the state of rights protection of persons living at the center and its compliance with the established requirements, as well as documents concerning those persons were examined.

 

Issues with regard to the number of medical staff members, medicines and medical supplies, use of restraint measures, nutrition and other issues were raised.

 

The necessity of improving household, including sanitary-hygiene conditions and renovation was recorded.

 

The representatives of the Defender’s Office discussed the above named issues with the administration of the SNCO.  

 

The recoded issues will be summarized in a prescribed manner and will be presented to competent authorities with recommendations for their solutions. 

 

During the visit, no obstacles were created for the work of the Defender’s representatives.
