The Human Rights Defender takes measures regarding the issue of the absence of drinking water in Archis village

Since early morning the Office of the Human Rights Defender has been monitoring the protests on the absence of drinking water in the Archis village of Tavush region.

 

The Office of the Defender discussed the issue with the administration of the region, the Head of the Ayrum enlarged community, as well as with the administrative head of the village.

 

The Office of the Human Rights Defender was provided with the clarification that steps were taken for the issue’s short and long-term solution.

 

Particularly, according to the received information, the issue of providing water to the village from another water supply pipeline near the village is being discussed, as well as, the possibility of building a new pumping station and internal water supply network as a fundamental solution.

 

The Human Rights Defender will take necessary steps within his mandate, including requesting written clarifications.
