The staff of the Bulgarian Ombudsperson studied the experience of the Human Rights Defender’s Office

Today, the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received the representatives of the Bulgarian Ombudsperson who visited Armenia for one-week experience exchange visit. 

 

During the meeting Arman Tatoyan presented the Defender’s mandate, competences, awareness raising projects implemented in the field of public services, activates of the Human Rights Defender in the field of business, as well as the new working principles of the national preventive mechanism.

 

Arman Tatoyan highly valued the close cooperation with the Embassy of Bulgaria in Armenia and highlighted the effectiveness of jointly implemented human rights projects. In this connection, the Defender attached importance to the joint work between the national human rights institutions of the two countries and expressed readiness to promote the implementation of the projects in this field.

 

Today, the members of the delegation visited Sevan Penitentiary institution and the Memorial of the victims of Armenian Genocide.

 

Within the framework of the project implemented by the support of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Armenia two-day international conference will be held with the participation of relevant state bodies, civil society, as well representatives of Georgian Public Defender’s Office. The capacities will be built through the discussions and experience exchange with the representatives of the human rights Defender’s Office in the field of public services and consumers’ rights protection.
