CoE Human Rights Director considered the experience of the Human Rights Defender valuable

Today, the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received Christophe Poirel, the Director of the Human Rights Directorate of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, Council of Europe.

 

During the meeting, the projects jointly implemented by the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law in the field of rights protection of women and persons deprived of liberty, as well as human rights in armed forces were discussed.

 

The parties also referred to the Human Rights Defender’s practice of submitting communications to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe aimed at providing independent assessment of the execution of the ECHR judgments by Armenia.

 

Christophe Poirel considered the experience of the Human Rights Defender valuable and expressed readiness to enhance the framework of cooperation.

 

In his turn, Arman Tatoyan expressed his gratitude to the CoE Human Rights Director for effective cooperation and highly appreciated the cooperation with the CoE Directorate General for Human Rights and Rule of Law, as well as CoE Office in Yerevan.
