Special report of the Defender on the results of the fact finding mission conducted in Chinari village has been published
According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense in Armenia early in the morning of December 29, 2016 Azerbaijani armed troops launched diversionary penetration attempt targeting Armenian village Chinari in Tavush region. As a result of the attack 2 soldiers of the Armenian Defense Army and an officer were killed.
The civilians of Chinari village have been attacked as well.
Upon publication of the above Public Report the Human Rights Defender’s representative urgently left for Chinari with special assignment to conduct a fact-finding mission with the objective of carrying out on-site examination of the circumstances under which human rights, including the rights of military personal, were violated.
As a result of the fact-finding mission special report of the Defender has been published, where 5 incidents occurred on December 29, 2016, January 3, 8 and 13, 2017 were identified.
The results of the fact-finding mission were presented through generally accessible Google Earth programme, namely notations were marked in the map of the certain area.
