Today, on January 15, since early morning, representatives of the Human Rights Defender had private conversations with Armen Bilyan, Smbat Barseghyan at Prison Hospital and Nubarashen penitentiary institutions, and with Arayik Khandoyan at Erbuni Medical Center. During the visits, questions related to their health care were discussed, medical documents were examined.
On a daily basis, representatives of the Defender continue taking measures within their competence in relation to the questions raised by Armen Bilyan, Smbat Barseghyan, Arayik Khandoyan.
Armen Bilyan continues receiving rehabilitation treatment at the Prison Hospital penitentiary institution. He has undergone a number of examinations.
During the private conversation at Nubarashen penitentiary institution, Smbat Barseghyan informed that he feels good. Other questions related to his health condition were also discussed with the representatives of the Defender. Taking into consideration the length of Smbat Barseghyan’s hunger strike, the Human Rights Defender finds it necessary to provide stationary medical supervision for him at the Prison Hospital penitentiary institution.
Arayik Khandoyan underwent medical examination at Erebuni Medical Center after a private conversation with him on January 9, 2018 and following the questions raised by the Defender. Today, necessary state-funded surgical interventions were undertaken at the same medical center.
At the time of the visit by the Defender’s representatives, Arayik Khandoyan was under the doctors’ supervision. A private conversation was held with him.
