Today, on January 13, since early morning, representatives of the Human Rights Defender had private conversations with Armen Bilyan, Smbat Barseghyan and Arayik Khandoyan at Prison Hospital and Nubarashen penitentiary institutions. During the visits, questions related to their health care were discussed, medical documents were examined.
Since the beginning of the hunger strike, on a daily basis, measures related to all questions raised by A. Bilyan, S. Barseghyan and A. Khandoyan are being taken by the Human Rights Defender’s Office within its competence.
After being transferred to Prison Hospital penitentiary institution, Armen Bilyan underwent medical examination, received appropriate consultation on diet after the hunger strike. Currently, he is at therapeutic division and is under rehabilitation care. Yesterday, intravenous injection was done, which is scheduled to be done today as well. The doctor clarified that the arterial blood pressure is within the respective norms for his physiological condition.
During the private conversation it was revealed that Armen Bilyan’s food intake is in accordance with the doctors’, including his doctor’s advice, that his health condition is satisfactory.
During the private conversation at Nubarashen penitentiary institutions, Smbat Barseghyan informed that he feels good. Smbat Barseghyan did not present any complaint or question concernign health-related issues. Immedately after the visit of the Defender's representatives he was visited by a doctor. It was clarified that the arterial blood pressure is within the respective norms for the person's physiological condition.
During the private converstation, Arayik Khandoyan informed that he had kidney pain and headache. Arayik Khandoyan was transferred to a civilian hospital in order to undergo several medical examinations. A. Khandoyan also presented a number of other questions, and we are taking consistent steps in order to support solving them.
All the matters related to the health situation of Armen Bilyan, Smbat Barseghyan and Arayik Khandoyan are under the daily attention of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
