The activities of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia in drafting international documents was discussed in Brussels

The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan participated in the General Assembly of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions, which was held in Brussels on November 29-30.

 

During the two-day conference held in the capital of Belgium, representative of international human rights institutions and ombudsmen institutions of more than 40 countries discussed a wide range of questions related to possible formats of cooperation for human rights protection in various fields, mutual assistance in the exchange of experiences and possibilities of common approaches in the field of human rights.

 

During the conference the efficiency of RA Human Rights Defender’s activities, as well as the cooperation with well-known international institutions, active involvement and effective work in the activities of specialised working groups of human rights protection organizations were highlighted.

 

RA Human Rights Defender’s activities in the drafting process of documents by international institutions was discussed as a separate example.

 

During the General Assembly the annual report and 2018 action plan of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions have been presented and a number of other questions related to international cooperation were discussed.

 

At the end of the conference, a statement was adopted, highlighting the importance of national human rights institutions in human rights protection in Europe.
