Today, on March 20, the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received Mikhail Lobov, Head of the Department of Human Rights Policy and Cooperation at the Council of Europe, Tigran Karapetyan, Head of the Division of the same Directorate, and Loretta Vioiu, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan.
The matters discussed during the meeting were the Defender’s priorities after the amendments of the RA Law on the Human Rights Defender as well as the emphasis of the role of the Defender in prevention of all forms of torture and ill-treatment.
Mikhail Lobov praised the Defender’s activities in the framework of effective cooperation with the civil society and the state bodies.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop joint projects in the near future.
