On June 6, Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, received Matias Kisler, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia.
Underlining the role and importance of the Ombudsman's institution, a number of issues related to bilateral cooperation and priorities of human rights protection in Armenia were discussed during the meeting.
Particularly, the issues regarding domestic violence, the prevention of torture and ill-treatment in closed institutions, as well as the issues relating to the protection of human rights were touched upon.
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen and expand the established effective cooperation.
