Yesterday, on March 7, the representatives of the Human Rights Defender once again visited Arkadi Papyan, who is on hunger strike in Nubarashen penitentiary institution. His medical documents and detention conditions were examined.
Due to the hunger strike’s duration, A. Papyan’s health condition requires permanent medical control. Persons on hunger strike require exclusively medical approach by special principles. In this connection, questions on intensive medical control with regard to A. Papyan’s health condition were raised to both penitentiary institution and penitentiary service.
The only reason of the hunger strike is that Arkadi Papyan disagrees with the criminal charge brought against him. The questions raised by A. Papikyan on his charge were presented to the criminal prosecution authorities.
During the private conversation, A Papyan did not present any complaint concerning his detention conditions or the treatment towards him.
