What is the state of implementation of GRECO recommendations to Armenia? Start of a conference

On November 27, a conference started for the purpose of holding discussions on the situation of the implementation of recommendations to Armenia by the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) of the Council of Europe.

 

The event entitled “Preventing Corruption and Promoting Human Rights” was organized by the Council of Europe, the RA Human Rights Defender, the Judiciary and the Ethics Commission of High-Ranking Officials, implemented in the framework of the project “Support to the Implementation of the Judicial Reform in Armenia”.

 

“The Human Rights Defender’s institution as well has an essential role in preventing corruption. As you are aware, after the change in the law we are going to participate in the formation of the Corruption Prevention Committee, and this conference is a good opportunity to understand the current situation in the field”, said Arman Tatoyan at the opening of the conference.

 

The Minister of Justice Davit Harutyunyan, Head of Council of Europe Office in Yerevan Natalia Vutova, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Executive Secretary of GRECO Gianluca Esposito also had opening speeches at the event.
