The Armenian and Georgian ombudsmen will continue to deepen cooperation in the field of human rights protection

On July 17, on their three-day visit to Armenia, the delegation headed by the Georgian Public Defender Nino Lomjaria had a meeting with the representatives of the Office of the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan aimed at generating exchange of experience. On the same day the members of delegation laid flowers at the eternal fire of the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and honored the memory of the innocent victims.

 

During the second half of the day, a joint visit to Armavir Penitentiary Institution was carried out, where the representatives of the Georgian Public Defender got acquainted with working principles of the Human Rights Defender at the Penitentiary Institution, as well as had a private interview with Georgian prisoner located there.

  

As a reminder, during the three-day visit there was a discussion on ensuring the rights of persons deprived of liberty, as well as an agreement was made to join efforts in the prevention of torture.
