Today, RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received Jane Buchanan, the Associate Director at Europe and Central Asia Division of the Human Rights Watch international human rights organization.
During the meeting, questions related to the protection of the rights of children with disabilities were discussed, specifically the concluding observations by UN Committee on the Rights of the Child addressed to Armenia and the measures taken in that respect.
The parties referred to the introduction of inclusive education in Armenia, emphasizing the importance of the measures taken with a view to implementing the right to education of children with disabilities and improving the existing mechanisms.
Hhighlighting the importance of the Human Rights Defender’s institution in the protection of the rights of women, children and persons with disabilities, at the end of the meeting the parties expressed readiness to continue the existing effective cooperation.
