Today in Strasbourg the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan had a working meeting with the Secretary General's Special Representative on Migration and Refugees Ambassador Tomáš Boček.
During the meeting issues related to protection of refugees and asylum seekers, vulnerable persons, affected by conflict situations, improvement of legal acts, related to such persons, adjustment of these acts in accordance with European standards. Among other issues, protection of the rights of children, women, disabled persons in the mentioned situations were stressed.
Arman Tatoyan informed Ambassador Tomáš Boček about the new status and priorities of the RA Human Rights Defender.
The parties highlighted the importance of the role of Ombudsman’s office in protection of the rights of refugees. In this regard, the necessity of developing the monitoring capacities of the RA Human Rights Defender and training of personnel with relevant special knowledge with cooperation of international organizations was pointed out.
Mr. Tomaš Boček expressed willingness to cooperate with the Ombudsman’s office and provide assistance to the projects to be implemented in the field of protection of the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
