Today Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia had an official meeting with Johannes van der Klaauw, South Caucasus Regional Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
At the meeting the parties discussed the bilateral cooperation regarding the protection of refugee rights, including issues regarding the continuous capacity development of the Defender’s staff, awareness raising among society on challenges of refugee rights protection.
Specifically, the significance of cooperation with Media representatives on the protection of refugee rights, as well as the necessity of initiating specialized courses for them has been underlined.
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed their willingness to further strengthen and enhance the already established productive cooperation.
