Mr. Arman Tatoyan, RA Human Rights Defender held a working meeting with Mr. Matthias Kiesler, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia, on June 13.
During the meeting issues related to ensuring and strengthening of human rights protection guarantees both in legislation and in practice, as well as matters pertaining to further development of the capacity building of the Human Rights Defender’s Office and more specifically the capacity building of its regional offices were discussed.
The parties expressed readiness to expand cooperation in a number of fields pertaining to human rights protection and other issues of mutual interest.
Emphasizing the importance of activities of the Human Rights Defender’s Institution and its Staff, Ambassador Kiesler expressed readiness to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation.
Underlining the importance of ensuring and strengthening of human rights protection and democratic values in Armenia, Human Rights Defender Tatoyan confirmed his readiness to initiate joint projects with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the sphere of human rights protection, as well as to expand fields of cooperation.
