The RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the U.S. in Armenia Richard Mills and USAID Armenia Mission Director, Deborah Grieser.
In the course of the meeting, the Parties discussed issues related to the bilateral cooperation and human rights protection in Armenia. Apart from this, the Ombudsman presented the new regulations of the constitutional law on “Human Rights Defender” and activities towards their implementation.
During the meeting, the U.S. Ambassador noted: “I am happy to be here today to continue our close coordination with the Ombudsman’s office. Your office is essential for strengthening human rights in Armenia.The United States Government is committed to supporting this effort.”
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen and expand the established effective cooperation.
