The Human Rights Defender met the OSCE/ODIHR observer delegation

Today, Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender held a working meeting with the delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), performing an observation mission in the elections, headed by the Head of the mission, Ambassador Jean Peterson.

 

At the meeting, Ambassador Peterson presented the principles of the activities of the observation mission and its key directions during the elections.

 

In his turn, the Ombudsman attached importance to the role of the observation mission, considering primarily the work for maintenance of the protection of citizens' rights in electoral processes.

 

Arman Tatoyan presented to the observers the powers of the Human Rights Defender and accomplished planned work for the maintenance of protection of human rights during the elections. The Ombudsman also highlighted the issues of protecting the rights of observers and journalists.

 

The sides expressed their willingness to continue the cooperation to guarantee the protection of human rights during the elections.
