Today, the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met Mark Thomson, the Secretary General of the Association for the Prevention of Torture in Geneva.
During the meeting, the working methods implemented by the Defender’s representatives during visits to places of deprivation of liberty were presented and discussed. The latter are based on internationally recognized principles, and will be further developed in practice. It was emphasized that the new legislative solutions will contribute to this matter.
The issues of cooperation with civil society in the prevention of ill-treatment were also discussed. At the end of the meeting the parties agreed to continue the cooperation and develop new directions of joint work.
