On 1 and 3 February the representatives of the Human Rights Defender visited Nubarashen Penitentiary Institution on the Defender’s assignment and met detained Nerses Poghosyan who was on hunger and water strike. The representatives had a private conversation with Nerses Poghosyan and examined his detention conditions.
During the visit conducted on 3 of February, it was revealed that Nerses Poghosyan submitted an application to finish his hanger and water strike.
He is currently held isolated in the second room of the Medical Department of Nubarashen Penitentiary Institution.
During the private conversation N. Poghosyan mentioned that he stopped the hunger and water strike, because last night his health condition sharply deteriorated.
Nerses Nikoghosyan, in the presence of the representatives of the Human Rights Defender, was examined by doctors and received special consultations on occasion of seizing his hunger strike.
