The Human Rights Defender received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia

Today, the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia H.E. Mr. Jonathan Lacote.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the state of human rights protection in Armenia, the Defender’s mandate, directions of work and activities, as well as conventional mandates and international cooperation. 

 

Arman Tatoyan presented the Ambassador the activities and systemic awareness-raising projects carried out in the field of women and children rights protection, as well as in the field of preventing violence against them.

 

The Defender and the French Ambassador agreed to cooperate in building the capacities of civil society and mass media representatives.

 

The parties discussed issues pertaining to the French Ombudsman Jacques Toubon’s visit to Gyumri French School N10 in the framework of his visit to Armenia. This school was established after 1988 earthquake by the participation of Jacques Toubon and Charles Aznavour.

 

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen and enhance already established fruitful cooperation.
