The representatives of the Human Rights Defender are at the police station to protect the rights of 19 persons apprehended from the vicinity of the Opera. The office has received a call thereof.
The Defender’s representatives held private interviews with the apprehended persons, in order to assess the grounds of their apprehension and the state of their rights protection.
In particular, the Defender’s representatives registered that 17 persons faced administrative arrest for disobedience to the lawful order of the police, 1 person for intentional destruction օf property, and 1 person for violence against a representative of authorities.
17 apprehended persons have already been released and materials are being prepared concerning the 2 other persons.
The events concerning the dismantling of cafes located in the vicinity of the Opera are being monitored by the Human Rights Defender.
