The Defender received the delegation of the PACE monitoring committee

Today RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received the delegation of the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

 

Among the members of the delegation were Bas Klein, member of PACE Secretariat, PACE members Alan Meale and Giuseppe Galati, as well as the head of the CoE Office in Armenia, Natalia Vutova.

 

Arman Tatoyan presented the Defender’s new functions and the Office’s objectives as prescribed under the constitutional law on Human Rights Defender, as well as cooperation with the civil society.

 

During the meeting, the Parties also referred to the activities carried out in the field of torture prevention in Armenia, questions related to the implementation of the new Constitution, etc.

 

Projects concerning training courses conducted within Research and Education Centre of the Human Rights Defender’s Office were discussed during the meeting as well.
