With the Defender’s support, a dismissed citizen was reinstated in his/her previous job

A citizen requested the Human Rights Defender’s assistance in reinstating in his/her previous job.

The applicant informed that he/she was dismissed from state non-profit organization because of reaching the retirement age, however according to the employment contract do not contain any provision enabling the termination of the contract because of reaching the retirement age.

An official letter has been addressed to the Ministry of Culture pertaining to this issue. According to the Ministry's clarification, following the Defender's written letter, it was revealed that the dismissal of the citizen from the job constituted a violation of the labor legislation.

Thus, the dismissed citizen was reinstated in his/her previous job.
