The citizen's disability group was restored with the Defender's support

The citizen who was discontented with the change in his disability group applied to the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan.

According to the information submitted by the applicant, after six years of medical-social examination, it was determined that he was under the second disability group. This year again that determination was extended for an additional one-year period, but two months after his examination, he was called to undergo a re-examination, as a result of which it was determined that he was under the third disability group.

In the framework of discussion procedure initiated in the Defender's Office, a written statement was addressed to the RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, with the aim of receiving clarification regarding the justification of determining that the citizen belonged to the third disability group. It was also suggested to discuss the question of conducting reexamination by a committee with extended membership.

As a result, a medical-social reexamination was conducted, which recorded deterioration in the citizen's health condition, and due to this the citizen's second disability group was restored.
